The Society arranges a packed calendar of events. We mark St Andrew's
Day, Burns' Night and Hogmanay with formal dinner dances. In addition
we hold ceilidhs and social evenings. We visit places locally and further
afield, going to such events as local greyhound racing and the Edinburgh
Tattoo.
There are fiercely contested annual sports competitions including bowls,
golf and tennis for silver trophies. The events often are concluded
by dinners, picnics or visits to pubs.
The Theatre Group arranges a programme of visits to the Crucible and
Lyceum theatres and other venues.
The Bridge Group play rubber bridge competitively over the year and
combine their AGM with a meal and a duplicate competition.
The Scottish Country Dance Class meets weekly for practice and holds
regular dances throughout the year.
A thriving Arts group meets to express an interest in things Scottish.
History, folklore, literature, music and natural history are among subjects
on which talks are held six times a year in the winter, often by Scots
and all with a relevance to Scotland.
The Society has links with other Scottish societies in the area and
participates in the County Ball and the annual bowls and quiz competition.
